FLI-MAP Fx

Fugro’s FLI-MAP Fx is a high-density, triple look angle LiDAR system that was designed to fill the gap between ultra high resolution and moderate resolution LiDAR systems. FLI-MAP Fx collects LiDAR data at three different angles (forward, nadir, and backward), as well as concurrent digital imagery and video. This unique configuration enables the system to act like an airborne 3-D “all-in-one” laser scanner that actually colorizes LiDAR points with a unique RGB value. The FLI-MAP Fx system is ideal for detailed and accurate mapping on large corridor projects such as watershed delineation, riparian studies, wind farm siting, pipeline and power transmission projects as well as large-area topographic mapping projects for federal, state, and municipal clients.

Capabilities

Mounted aboard a specially equipped aircraft, the FLI-MAP Fx system is capable of fast and accurate aerial surveying, collecting precise airborne GPS, platform altitude and orientation (IMU), and lidar data combined with video and digital imagery over areas of interest.

The FLI-MAP Fx system provides the following capabilities and deliverables:

  • Fast, accurate LiDAR data acquisition and processing
  • Collection of up to 250,000 laser pulses per second with multiple returns per pulse
  • Concurrent collection of high-resolution digital imagery and video
